This course circles the Schluchsee at about 1,000 metres above sea level, mostly on natural paths around the lake. The route is designed as a classic but comparatively runnable course, with modest climbing and terrain that still demands steady effort over a sustained loop. Its appeal comes from combining Black Forest scenery, lakeside running and the long-established character of the Schluchseelauf event.
